About Me
Hi there.
My name is Rene Bartosh. I am currently studying Electrical Engineering at the Eastern Institute of Technology. I recently graduated from Taikura Steiner School with a New Zealand Steiner Schools Certificate (Level 3) with distinction. Part of my final (7th form) year involved a year long independant study project. During this time a wrote a 10,000 word thesis on the future of technology, the issues surrounding it, the Open Source and Free Software movements and the history if the Internet. To support this, I also created an online booking system for the Sunshine Ski Lodge.
As is probably obvious, my interestes include computers, the Internet and technology. I am also interested in politics (I voted for the first time in 2008), business and current affairs, outdoor recreation (hiking, camping, kayaking etc), music, reading and television. Favourite foods include pizza, pasta, Indian and Chinese, and favourite drinks include Monteiths beer and Canadian Club Whisky.
I am involved with a few special interest groups and websites (see link section to the right). In particular, I am interested and involved with the GNU/Linux community, Open Source and Free Software programs and developement.
